Julie Schwab - January 16, 2012 - 3:54 pm

OK hoping to be first but sadly second (first the worst, second the best…) It is truly special people that can hold their heads high and wear custom made matching reindeer sweaters (or as the Europeans say ‘jumpers’) and walk around town looking casual. :)

I love how everytime our wedding is mentioned 2 things are discussed…
1.) The seahawks won the play offs that day
2.) Our photogropher was beautiful and so was her thong/ass crack that made an appearance…:) Most guests said the thong aka whale tale made for not only the best vow exchange ever but since my whale tale makes many appearances that I must have chosen our lovely phogropher based on our matching…ummm…assets.. :) <3

Hello! Something funny huh…..well my husband came home last night from work and I asked him how his day was (he is a Police Officer). He said, “well the lady I took to jail peed in the back of my car and had poo all over her shoes”. “I spent a good part of my shift cleaning my car”. Poor guy, he had to clean pee and poo even at work:)

You want something funny, ok here we go and this is true. Lately when my husband and I go anywhere he tells either a cashier or someone we run into that he met me at a circus. I was working behind the wirlybird ride near the yak ladies tent selling kisses for a 50¢but he got one for a nickel. He said I had $500 in my pocket. I never know what will come out of his mouth next. He really is a wonderful man. I would love to win the decals. Sorry but this is truly a crazy story

Kari Albin - January 16, 2012 - 7:39 pm

A photographer took a self portrait in a park.
Due to lighting conditions he used the built in flash on the camera. He quickly got arrested for flashing and exposing himself in the park.

Just that little smile on my patients face knowing someone cares about them is all worth it.

Something to make you smile……
Well, when I was younger I always said when I get married I was 2 things…. a KitchenAide mixer and a rainbow vacuum. Last Christmas I received the mixer! (Whoohoo best surprise gift EVER) the best part about having that mixer:
We as a family have begun working out; My son (5y/o), during the workout if I take a rest says and I quote, “Come on mom! Dig deep you don’t wanna be fat!”
But when he says that I don’t wanna ‘dig deep’, all I can think about is going infact the kitchen and with the help of my KitchenAide mixer making some sugary, sweet, chocolatey, goowey, yummy dessert! She is my weekness!

Jason Kvame - January 17, 2012 - 12:34 am

Hello… So I’m a photographer and I think your work is awesome. My gf has a Kitchenaid Mixer that she just absolutely loves and uses all the time. She has been drooling over the kitchenaid designs more than food itself at the moment. So I figured I should atleast try and win one for her so she can drool more but make something yummy at the same time! She can’t make anything yummy staring at the computer screen. Thank you for offering the giveaway, it’s a wonderful idea.

Anita - January 17, 2012 - 8:51 am

I bought a Kitchen Aid stand mixer a few years ago, just to make Gingerbread Houses with my Special Education students every December. I make a about 10 batches of dough every year. I also started a tradition at the same time of making houses and trains on Christmas Eve with my son and his neighborhood friends. I don’t even remember how I stumbled across this website. I absolutely love the creativity. I would love to decorate mine with a gingerbread house design and have the tradition continue for years to come.

Shannon Thompson - January 17, 2012 - 9:37 am

Sonia W. - January 17, 2012 - 6:10 pm

Well…..I’ve been stalking your website for ages because I love your photography style and I want to shoot photos like you when I grow up. :) And since you’re so inspirational in your photography, perhaps I could also glean some more inspiration by having a similar looking mixer? Also, this decal design matches my bedroom decor, and it would be *SO* cute to draw that out into the kitchen too!

Angel S. - January 17, 2012 - 10:33 pm

Dawn Pinky Newell - January 31, 2012 - 8:24 am

WOW!!! your photos are epic & moving, simple & elegant. I have bought my only daughter a mixer as a new apartment gift. She always loved using mine, and it was time for her to have her own. And then…she has done something… she turned me on to the CustomKitchenCouture site… I have not done anything productive for over 24 hours now – all I can do is sit & click & stare @ the designs for the mixers… thinking I want one of everything… ok I should knock down one wall and build on to my kitchen just to have more space to have a “gallery” of mixers & designs… the dreams I had, the designs that filled my head… the pictures of flowers so real you can almost smell them, the roar of a bomber engine as it flies by… and my husband ( bless his heart) has been truly wonderful, he wipes the drool from my face fairly regular as he walks by me in my office as I just sit comatose staring at the designs…
What a wonderful thing you are doing by having this contest – to whomever wins, may their heart be filed with happiness & joy to have something so wickedly cool!!!! Now yall all go & play purdy!

Baking Birthday Slumber Party {oooh the crazy fun}

I recently had the brilliant idea to have a Baking themed birthday party for my 12-year-old. My blossoming young tween wanted a baking-ice-skating-painting-dance-slumber party…so we compromised and I let her have a few friends over the night before to participate in the preparations for her Baking Slumber Party!! Part of the “party” was in the experience of making all of the cake-pops and cookies the night before, together.

The girls had a blast {and I almost had a nervous breakdown with all that was going on at once, at volume 12, until 2 am…} We had lots and lots of help from my fabulous mixer {custom painted by the amazing Un Amore Designs} and I think the girls just liked having turns using it {I know it inspires ME to bake!!}. Bright and early in the morning, before the party, the girls made decorations with cupcake liners, and party favors with Cookies in a Jar. We even had time to mold edible PhotoBooth Props {lips and mustaches on a stick!}. My favorite touch!

I provided ideas and inspiration, and everything was homemade by the girls except the aprons! I really wanted to make those myself, but I am no wonder-woman…so I hired the wonder-woman at Rockin Bobbin to make my over-the-top adorable aprons and hat flowers {just got the chef hats at Micheals!} My youngest girls even got to dress up and be a part of the party! They all had the best time I could have ever imagined!! It was totally worth the hours spent on Pinterest and sleepless night with a house-full of aspiring Bakerellas:)

New Year, New Hope ~ Holiday Session

This last few months has been flooded with adorable little mini-sessions and family-fun galore!! I have been doing Holiday sessions like you would not believe, and I have had a blast! I love being part of making family memories and telling a story of who you are and what your family is about!! I was completely touched by the Schwab family that is fighting {and beating} Cancer. This photoshoot was a Celebration of Life and every single moment we have together!! Heck-yeah. Hope. Love. Life. This is what it’s all about, and these families of lovers and fighters are so lucky to know how precious life is. This New Year, I am totally going to smile bigger, love deeper, live louder and dance harder.

DIY Fun ~ Pinterest Inspired

So, I have always been a crafty momma. I like making gifts and pretty things.  I used to scrap-book with my girlfriends, and set up scenes to photograph just for a page, and spend hours creating the perfect homemade birthday invitations…ok, I still do that, but I have totally been consumed with working and going, going going, that I had to remind myself that I’m not just a photographer. I’m a mom, an artist, I like to dress up, dance, I like to cook, I like to create crafts and plan parties!!! So, with a little help from my new BFF Pinterest, I have been categorizing those ideas and actually doing them!! This Fall season, I have taken back my inner house-mom and I got crafty, I dressed up for Holloween, I find new things to do every day! Take a look at some of my Pinterest Inspired craftiness! If you aren’t already a Pinterester, you may not be addicted yet…that’s ok, you will be soon, and you can Follow my Pins HERE!!

I really had a great time dressing up with my girls this Holloween! My favorite was my little Audrey Hepburn in her tutu from Bee Bops and Lollipops {I didn’t have to buy a thing for our costumes since I already had the tutu!}. I had a lot of fun as Rosie the Riveter too:) {my other girls went as I love Lucy and I Dream of Genie}.

After trick-or treating, we made roasted pumpkin-seeds…3 Kinds! Cinnamon, Salted Caramel, and Traditional Sea Salt!

We also totally had to try recycling old crayons into new fun-shaped rainbow crayons! All three of my kids loved this!!

We also made these decorations for the door! This ribbon wreath and pumpkin ideas can also be found on Pinterest! I am inspired every time I sign in, but I always find a way to put my own little creative twist on things:)Fun, Fun, Fun!!!
