I recently had the brilliant idea to have a Baking themed birthday party for my 12-year-old. My blossoming young tween wanted a baking-ice-skating-painting-dance-slumber party…so we compromised and I let her have a few friends over the night before to participate in the preparations for her Baking Slumber Party!! Part of the “party” was in the experience of making all of the cake-pops and cookies the night before, together.

The girls had a blast {and I almost had a nervous breakdown with all that was going on at once, at volume 12, until 2 am…} We had lots and lots of help from my fabulous mixer {custom painted by the amazing Un Amore Designs} and I think the girls just liked having turns using it {I know it inspires ME to bake!!}. Bright and early in the morning, before the party, the girls made decorations with cupcake liners, and party favors with Cookies in a Jar. We even had time to mold edible PhotoBooth Props {lips and mustaches on a stick!}. My favorite touch!

I provided ideas and inspiration, and everything was homemade by the girls except the aprons! I really wanted to make those myself, but I am no wonder-woman…so I hired the wonder-woman at Rockin Bobbin to make my over-the-top adorable aprons and hat flowers {just got the chef hats at Micheals!} My youngest girls even got to dress up and be a part of the party! They all had the best time I could have ever imagined!! It was totally worth the hours spent on Pinterest and sleepless night with a house-full of aspiring Bakerellas :)

Once again, I have to catch up on blogging, I have just been soo busy working, living life and…well, working and enjoying life pretty much sums it up! It took me a few days to catch up on sleep after capturing this little miracle one early morning! There is no greater honor for me than to be asked to be part of a moment such as this. The moment your child is born. Why wouldn’t you capture this event to relive for a lifetime? We capture weddings and birthdays, family vacations, but what about the day you welcome your child into the world?? Simply priceless. I love this family and would have been there for this moment at any cost. I am humbled and thrilled that they love me as well, enough to invite me to share in this priceless event. You can’t rewind time, but you CAN relive a moment!! Enjoy these images of this amazing little miracle :)

I spend a lot of time chasing kids around. Besides being a busy wedding photographer & picking up commercial jobs here and there, I also have a fun little studio in Snohomish, WA geared towards newborns, kids, families and seniors. Between that and my own 3 girls, yeah, I chase a lot of kids. I love it though!! It keeps me young, laughing, and on my toes!! I thought 2 things after I watched this video that Keith made of my shoot…FIRST, I REALLY have to color my roots and trim my mane {I have since cut 4 inches and am slightly blonder}!! Second…I never want to forget what blessings little people are, how playful and FUN they make life!! I really wish I could keep my children this young forever…at the age where a kiss can make any boo-boo better. A toss in the air can dry all tears. This priceless age of innocence and discovery should never be taken for granted, even when it’s 3 am and they are up {again!}…what’s a little sleep in the scheme of things? Right? Soon, it will all be over. They will be grown up, going to school, walking down isles and doing the whole thing over again. So embrace those little people {and chase them around a little too}. :)

Meet Miss Morgan :) What a doll! This little lady had a Sun-Kiss beach session with me in LA last week! Morgan is an up and comming super-model, so watch out for this little rock-star! This face just screams commercial! Am I right? Whatever she’s sellin’, I’m buyin’! I had such a fun time with Miss Morgan in Long Beach (my home town, holla!) and even got her hot-momma in a few shots for a father’s day gift! What a great idea!

I got to spend the day with my awesome friend and her babies the other day. This is her new son Kyson. Isn’t he yummy!? I snapped a few images of him on my new backdrop and this was one of my favorite pictures of his sweet little face! The only problem is, I can’t decide weather I like things better in B&W or Color sometimes…what do you think? I am so indecisive. Leave a comment with your input!

I got to spend some time with two of my dearest little friends, Kortney and Kirstin! You may recognize them in many of my photo shoots! They have recently expanded their family! Meet Oliver! I think Oliver just might be the sweetest little thing I ever did see. He is such a spunky pup with the most adorable personality! …And yes, Oliver is also wearing a tutu…it doesn’t get any cuter, folks!

I got these photos in Marysville right in front of this wall I drive by every day, but never noticed! My dear friend, and these kiddos’ momma, spotted it and knew it would be perfect for our shoot! She is also my assistant photographer, so I gotta say, she’s got a great eye! :) And how about her fun ideas! You can’t go wrong with these vibrant colors and classic props!
