Burlap and Lace Wedding {Hidden Meadows wedding designed by Jenny Keller}

This Burlap and Lace wedding was a phenomenal wedding. Not only because the bride and groom have amazingly great taste, or because of the fabulous design and coordination by Jenny Keller Designs, or even because of it’s spectacular location at the gorgeous Hidden Meadows in Snohomish…this day was a photographer’s dream for sooo many reasons!! Lovely overcast weather, designs and details galore, a beautiful couple so in love and so happy…but some of the details that made this wedding so magnificent could not be planned! Just days earlier, the mother-of-the-bride fell and broke her hip, and was unsure how she could possibly attend her daughter’s wedding! How do you not let something like this dampen your spirits!?? Well, you just don’t, you pray for a miracle, and you hope for the best! That’s exactly what Tamara and Steven did. They were happy, hopeful, and in love. Those prayers paid off, because Tamara’s mother made it to the wedding right out of surgery, specially delivered by ambulance and escorted by some very special medics! Some of you may know about Nicole Dinardo of Un Amore Custom Designs…she’s kind of a big deal. I am honored to call her a friend, and to get to photograph this little vixen at work! If you don’t already know, Nic is the mastermind behind custom painted Kitchen Aid mixers. Does it get any more fabulous?? Nic has been featured in 425 Magazine, and the Food Network, with her custom mixers sitting in the homes of celebrities such as Britney Spears, Khloe Kardashian, and The Pioneer Woman – Ree Drummand! Of course, I also had to get my hands on one of these collector pieces of art -you guessed it – Tiffany Blue with Damask embellishments {my fave!}. Ok, ok! So, I have totally dropped my blogging ball, ONCE AGAIN! This month has been crazy busy with fun jobs all over the country, and I just have not had the time to squeeze anything else in!! Earlier in March, I had the opportunity to photograph the appearance of the Deadliest Catch’s Jake and Josh Harris at the Temecula Rod Run. Video Diaries of a Life Style Photographer ~ Chasing Kids & Capturing Life ~ TraLa Studios

I spend a lot of time chasing kids around. Besides being a busy wedding photographer & picking up commercial jobs here and there, I also have a fun little studio in Snohomish, WA geared towards newborns, kids, families and seniors. Between that and my own 3 girls, yeah, I chase a lot of kids. I love it though!! It keeps me young, laughing, and on my toes!! I thought 2 things after I watched this video that Keith made of my shoot…FIRST, I REALLY have to color my roots and trim my mane {I have since cut 4 inches and am slightly blonder}!! Second…I never want to forget what blessings little people are, how playful and FUN they make life!! I really wish I could keep my children this young forever…at the age where a kiss can make any boo-boo better. A toss in the air can dry all tears. This priceless age of innocence and discovery should never be taken for granted, even when it’s 3 am and they are up {again!}…what’s a little sleep in the scheme of things? Right? Soon, it will all be over. They will be grown up, going to school, walking down isles and doing the whole thing over again. So embrace those little people {and chase them around a little too}.

Griffin Layne ~ Nashville Recording Artist ~ Recording Session

I recently got to travel to Nashville for my first time ever, to photograph Griffin Layne recording his latest work in Music City!! It was awesome to watch how the magic was made at the studio with all of the amazing talent that goes in to putting a recording together. I clicked my heals and bought me some boots! We visited The King’s Home in Graceland and ate nothing but the BEST BBQ for 5 straight days! I loved it. Here’s a little peek into the recording with Griffin Layne! I really enjoyed visiting Nashville, and the loooong road trip to Graceland. This was one of the rare instances I got to sit in the back, kick my boots up and look out the window to enjoy the view of the South. I even got a nap! We didn’t get to spend much time in Graceland at Elvis’ home since it was closing shortly after we arrived. I did, however, have just enough time to meet this fine gentleman impersonator and pose for a picture….while he humped my leg. Hmmm. You never know who you’re going to meet, or who’s going to hump your leg when you’re shooting in far-off places like Tennessee! Another day, another adventure!!

Catch of the Day ~ Deadliest Catch ~ Josh & Jake Harris ~ Rebel Ink Magazine Shoot

Ok, ok. I’m not gonna lie. I was pretty stoked to be asked to shoot these guys…come on, I watch Discovery Channel whenever I can get away from Lightroom and Facebook…I love Deadliest Catch! I have been watching Josh and Jake live the dream and legacy left behind by their father, Captain Phil Harris. So yes, I was thrilled to shoot these local heroes!! Images from this shoot will be featured in Rebel Ink Magazine this Spring along with a spread about the brothers’ adventures and heartache. These two have been through a lot in their short lives and have had it shared with the world on reality television. Josh and Jake each have quite a unique story, living life to the extreme as fishermen on the Bering Sea and as Reality Rockstars. Make sure to support your local Rockstar and check it out! Can’t wait to shoot these guys again but for now, enjoy a few sneak peeks of our shoot in Snohomish at the famous Killer Paint this past December…

Pin-Up Wedding ~ Vintage Stylized Wedding Shoot with Birdcage Veil {my fave}

This may just be one of my all time fave wedding shoot!! This wedding had style all over!! All the way down to the vintage-inspired Birdcage veil, to the Converse and Tu-tu’s from Bee Bops & Lollipops {our favorite local children’s boutique}!! We met before the wedding for pictures at TraLa Studios {also located with BB&L} in Historic Downtown Snohomish. It was a cold day and the little kiddos were pretty cold walking around the town takins pictures here and there, but they sure did do a great job loving each other and the camera! It didn’t hurt that they were being bribes with cupcakes . Kymberly and Adam had their wedding cupcakes at Bite Me Cupcakes in Snohomish and were very happy to be in a warm place with treats!! I already knew this was the perfect stylized wedding and photoshoot that I always want to do. When you come to a shoot with a them and style you are after, you accomplish a vibrant and more commercial looking shoot {which is soo much fun to do!}!! I love it. And I love Kymberly and Adam. Obviously, the camera loves them too, as you can see. We had the best time after the ceremony in Everett and we did a little more shooting before the rain kicked in too hard. There was also a big game on, and Adam was hoping to get to see part of it He did an EXCELLENT job cooperating and posing!! I cannot tell you how easy this makes my job! I’d really love to “stylize” every shoot. Really! Bring a bike and a picnic, BAM! Theres your theme. I hope this couple inspires you to find a little flavor and spice up shoots and wedding themes!! You don’t need a big budget, in fact a bunch of DIY details and awesome pictures are what it’s all about to me! What an honor it was to work with Un Amore Designs to do this amazing promo shoot of Nic’s custom painted KitchenAid Mixers! Is this retro look not perfect? This ain’t yo momma’s KitchenAid! Nic got the best hair and make-up artist around, and even found this perfectly poppin’ yellow dress from Salvage Life! We used the fantabulous Urban Light Studio to shoot in and I just loved everything about it. I will definately be back to shoot there in the near future…stay tuned for more!!

Juicy Couture is now available at BB&L and I got to take some fun commercial shots of the first order. I fell in LOVE with every single outfit! First thing Ang and I did, was throw these cute little duds on our daughters. Perfection.
