Krissy and Scott are getting married this Summer, and were full of smiles at our Downtown Engagement shoot! They giggled as they snuggled and laughed as they blew dandelions together. You don’t need much more than love and laughter for a beautiful shoot! These two have not had photos taken with each other for a very, VERY long time {as is the case with most of my couples!} so they were naturally a little unsure of how to pose and what to do, but who isn’t?  I knew there was nothing to worry about when I saw the way they looked at each other. Krissy and Scott light up each other’s faces…and each other’s fires! They did a great job letting go of inhibitions and letting themselves LOVE in front of the camera.  I think this engagement shoot totally got Krissy and Scott ready for the Wedding Day and am already spinning with ideas for them!!

Katie and Cole are super-duper adorable. I met them a few Summers ago when I shot Katie’s sister’s wedding! {I love being there for weddings like part of the family!} Naturally, we can’t have the same shots so we chose a modern  downtown Seattle session for our urban cowboy {actually he’s a Seattle Police Officer} and his stylin’ wife-to-be. I had to take advantage of all of the Wall Art that is available in Pioneer Square. The colors are my fave and I just love all of the character of the old buildings and wondering citizens. We did a little bit of everything to capture all things “Seattle”. The wedding day is going to be a glorious Summer wedding, no doubt with lots of flare and style! I know, I have said it before and I will say it again. I have the COOLEST clients!  I’d like to call Karridi and Brandon friends after spending time with them at my studio in downtown Snohomish for thier engagement session. We talked, we laughed, we kissed…well they kissed I just watched and took pictures They were just so comfortable loving each other  and fun to be around, it made my job a dream! It doesn’t hurt that they are gorgeous, either!! But what made thier engagement photos so fabulous was the way they smiled at each other and looked at each other, you could just feel the spark! It’s not about perfection, but emotion and personality! These two had style & chemistry…lots of it. I just know that Brandon and Karridi are going to have an awesome wedding day, and I simply cannot wait to share that day with them! They have already given me permission to dance at the reception, so watch out party people!!

I remember when Stephanie and I would go out with the girls on Funk night in Bellingham, looking for Mr. Right. It was almost 7 years ago when Stephanie met Whit and they have been  together ever since. Going to Grad School, working hard, buying houses…They are so very successful in their careers and in their relationship because they are just two great people. I made them kiss a lot more than they are used to, but I think it was good for them {especially Whit}. We had a blast reminiscing while running around Seattle with the rain pouring down throughout the entire session between Pike Place and the Seattle Center. Good times. That rain didn’t slow us down one bit. This two we perfect!!  I cannot wait for the wedding this summer! The Photobooth is going to be a blast

Phil and Jenny love each other, and they love Snohomish! They are having a Snohomish wedding later this year, and I just can’t wait to take their wedding photos! From the first shot on our Engagement session, I knew this couple was going to be fun. Such great models, so brave and willing to try my random ideas! {and even offering a few of their own ideas!}

Phil and Jenny have inspired me to give a few little Engagement Session pointers, because these two really got it right…

First, location, location, location. This session is a time for you to capture who you are as a couple, and as individuals. So when we are planning our shoot together, think about a place that tells a little bit of your story! Maybe a park, maybe the urban city, or downtown shabby-chic, a romantic farm with fields, a place you have created memories, or a place you’d like to make new ones…think about it! And when in doubt, ask the photographer!      I can also suggest the best times for natural light, depending on our options!

The next question: What to wear, what to wear? Ya know, I always LOVE it when there are a few options, don’t you? So bring a few accessories, or outfits that showcase your personality! We can change it up from “normal” to “funky” and everything in between! This is YOUR time to showcase your personality, YOU are America’s next top model!!!{ Well, at least for about an hour with ME, you’re the star!} So don’t be afraid to dress up and  showcase  your personal style to the shoot!

Along with dressing up, comes playing the part. That’s right. You are going to be “performing” a little, at least it may feel like it! We are all probably not used to having paparazzi following us around, so it is gonna feel a little weird at first, right!? Don’t worry, you’re gonna get over it.   That’s what this time together is great for, getting over the awkward getting-to-know-each-other phase! We can get used to each other and any awkward feelings you may have about being in front of the camera BEFORE the wedding day, so you can be more relaxed and comforatable on your big day. Be prepared to show a little PDA. That’s right, I’m going to ask you to kiss and “nuggle” and get lost in each others eyes.  :)  This can be super weird for some people.  Jenny and Phil were an exception to this, which made my job sooo much easier! They knew how to be comfortable “loving” each other in front of me, giggling and laughing in between attempts at serious shots….it was perfect! But don’t worry all you PDA-haters! Give me animation,  silliness, & quirks with that romance! If you can do this at your engagement session, you are sure to get priceless shots that really represent the two of you and your love for one another. That’s what this is all about!

…They had lots and lots of fun together and finally decided to get ENGAGED! Aaahh!!

John and Kelsey are two of my favorite friends. My husband and I share many fun memories with there guys and I cannot tell you how exciting it is to see them finally getting married…ok, well we still have like, 355 days for that…but still! John and Kelsey are planning thier wedding in Hawaii and I cannot wait for that destination wedding! I must say, this wedding is going to be Off-The-Hook! I can’t wait for the pictures I’ll get to take and the fun we will all share! Just wait for it…

…all the excitement must have made them sleepy…or the beer…

These two have been together forever, and I have had the pleasure of knowing these guys before they started dating. I can’t tell you how exciting it was to find out that Jenni and Shawn liked each other  They both work security and fell in ♥ working together. They make such a great team, they even started working a second job together! They just can’t get enough of each other I guess! Shawn and Jenni are such a cute couple and I am so honored to shoot thier wedding almost six years later!! This wedding is going to be a blast, I cannot wait!!

Ok, he’s her Michael, but that’s his pet name…and to me, she will always be Miss Tribby! We worked together 10 years ago as preschool teachers (just before I had my first daughter and became a photographer!). Tribby is a dear friend and beautiful person! Mike is a lucky man, and Tribby is totally in love with him! These two are made for each other! I cannot wait for the wedding this summer. This girl is full of cute ideas and details, it is seriously creative!  Mike has some pretty awesome ideas too!…take a look at their website! Just wait for it…

When I talked to Chelsea and Abe, I knew right away that I would love them…and I was right! I had a great time with them at Abe’s farm (well his parent’s farm). Abe gre up here and shared so many special memories with Chelsea here. The scene and the story were so beautiful and perfect, I had to take a step back to soak it all in. How romantic. I could have snapped these two just being cute and in love all day. What a fun couple! I really can’t wait for the wedding this summer! Ahhh, wedding season…
