I recently had the brilliant idea to have a Baking themed birthday party for my 12-year-old. My blossoming young tween wanted a baking-ice-skating-painting-dance-slumber party…so we compromised and I let her have a few friends over the night before to participate in the preparations for her Baking Slumber Party!! Part of the “party” was in the experience of making all of the cake-pops and cookies the night before, together.

The girls had a blast {and I almost had a nervous breakdown with all that was going on at once, at volume 12, until 2 am…} We had lots and lots of help from my fabulous mixer {custom painted by the amazing Un Amore Designs} and I think the girls just liked having turns using it {I know it inspires ME to bake!!}. Bright and early in the morning, before the party, the girls made decorations with cupcake liners, and party favors with Cookies in a Jar. We even had time to mold edible PhotoBooth Props {lips and mustaches on a stick!}. My favorite touch!

I provided ideas and inspiration, and everything was homemade by the girls except the aprons! I really wanted to make those myself, but I am no wonder-woman…so I hired the wonder-woman at Rockin Bobbin to make my over-the-top adorable aprons and hat flowers {just got the chef hats at Micheals!} My youngest girls even got to dress up and be a part of the party! They all had the best time I could have ever imagined!! It was totally worth the hours spent on Pinterest and sleepless night with a house-full of aspiring Bakerellas

Once again, I have to catch up on blogging, I have just been soo busy working, living life and…well, working and enjoying life pretty much sums it up! It took me a few days to catch up on sleep after capturing this little miracle one early morning! There is no greater honor for me than to be asked to be part of a moment such as this. The moment your child is born. Why wouldn’t you capture this event to relive for a lifetime? We capture weddings and birthdays, family vacations, but what about the day you welcome your child into the world?? Simply priceless. I love this family and would have been there for this moment at any cost. I am humbled and thrilled that they love me as well, enough to invite me to share in this priceless event. You can’t rewind time, but you CAN relive a moment!! Enjoy these images of this amazing little miracle

Katie and Cole are super-duper adorable. I met them a few Summers ago when I shot Katie’s sister’s wedding! {I love being there for weddings like part of the family!} Naturally, we can’t have the same shots so we chose a modern  downtown Seattle session for our urban cowboy {actually he’s a Seattle Police Officer} and his stylin’ wife-to-be. I had to take advantage of all of the Wall Art that is available in Pioneer Square. The colors are my fave and I just love all of the character of the old buildings and wondering citizens. We did a little bit of everything to capture all things “Seattle”. The wedding day is going to be a glorious Summer wedding, no doubt with lots of flare and style! I know, I have said it before and I will say it again. I have the COOLEST clients!  I’d like to call Karridi and Brandon friends after spending time with them at my studio in downtown Snohomish for thier engagement session. We talked, we laughed, we kissed…well they kissed I just watched and took pictures They were just so comfortable loving each other  and fun to be around, it made my job a dream! It doesn’t hurt that they are gorgeous, either!! But what made thier engagement photos so fabulous was the way they smiled at each other and looked at each other, you could just feel the spark! It’s not about perfection, but emotion and personality! These two had style & chemistry…lots of it. I just know that Brandon and Karridi are going to have an awesome wedding day, and I simply cannot wait to share that day with them! They have already given me permission to dance at the reception, so watch out party people!!

I remember when Stephanie and I would go out with the girls on Funk night in Bellingham, looking for Mr. Right. It was almost 7 years ago when Stephanie met Whit and they have been  together ever since. Going to Grad School, working hard, buying houses…They are so very successful in their careers and in their relationship because they are just two great people. I made them kiss a lot more than they are used to, but I think it was good for them {especially Whit}. We had a blast reminiscing while running around Seattle with the rain pouring down throughout the entire session between Pike Place and the Seattle Center. Good times. That rain didn’t slow us down one bit. This two we perfect!!  I cannot wait for the wedding this summer! The Photobooth is going to be a blast

It has been a busy December, with oodles of family photoshoots right before the holidays, and a Studio opening just down the street from Heather Lynn Photographie! This past year, my husband has joined the business full time {yes, a wife-husband team!} and we have hired a few very talented individuals to help with IT stuff, editing, assisting, and graphic design, just to name a few new jobs! Well, that was the nickname used by my first photography studio to describe my personality, and the work I did with my camera.  I like to think of this as a way of looking at life, not just a nickname…of finding the whimsical magic and beauty within every personality & memory. Making life fun.

Griffin is an up and coming recording artist in L.A. who had me do some shots for his press packet. Needless to say, this was a super fun shoot.

Erica is one of my longest, dearest friends from PV Peninsula High School. I got excited at the chance to photograph my beautiful friend! We are still close after all these years and we always have a fun time with our photoshoots when we get together. Isn’t she stunning!?

I also did some romantic shots of this beautiful couple on the beach in Malibu!

While I was in Malibu, I also shot the adorable Barton family! I LOVE these classic beach family photos {with “Trala” flair!}

One of my other favorite destination shoots while in California was at the Los Angeles Angels Stadium! What a treat this was for me to get to photograph this beautiful family in such an awesome place! I have to thank the von Duering family for being such Angels fans and for bringing me along on their tour of the stadium! {You, too, can have your very own personal paparazzi!}

Little Alexis also posed for me while I was in the area. I visited her home in Redondo Beach and was immediately captivated by those baby blues! What a doll! Alexis was so sweet and bright eyed, perfect for her first photoshoot!! No trip is too far for a baby’s first photo session

I did get to have a little “me” time on this trip and had some great times with old friends at great restaurants, trips to the spa, the beach and just driving around alone with the music blasting and windows down…a real treat for this busy momma of three! I brought the family down for a trip to Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm earlier this summer, so I didn’t feel bad enjoying myself one bit {ok, maybe I felt alittle bad after that shoot with all the half-naked guys…I really enjoyed that! lol}.

Meet Miss Morgan What a doll! This little lady had a Sun-Kiss beach session with me in LA last week! Morgan is an up and comming super-model, so watch out for this little rock-star! This face just screams commercial! Am I right? Whatever she’s sellin’, I’m buyin’! I had such a fun time with Miss Morgan in Long Beach (my home town, holla!) and even got her hot-momma in a few shots for a father’s day gift! What a great idea!
