2008 has been a great year for our business, but we just can’t wait for the wonderful changes to come in 2009! As many of you know, I am expecting my third daughter any day now! This is by far one of the most exciting changes that will be taking place in my life this new year. Another fantastic change: Heather Lynn Photographie will be opening a Studio Location in Downtown Snohomish! YAY! The Grand Opening will have to be partially determined by the arrival of my new little bundle, but we are moving in and planning events until that date! Stay tuned for more on that thrilling news!

I’d like to thank each and every person who has shared thier priceless memories with Heather Lynn Photographie…it has truely been a blessing to be such a vital part of so many moments! I am inspired by your stories, by life, and am honored to be able to share my vision with you!

 

 

What a great start to a New Year!  My husband and I teamed up to shoot a gorgeous wedding in Ballard and rang in the New Year right! There will be more posted on that fabulous wedding shortly!

Wedding Season has officially ended, and now comes the big rush to order those beautiful wedding albums! I have already started the design and ordering of a few weddings from this summer, but have many more to come! I just want to remind my clients that time is of the essence! Many of you know that I am expecting my third daughter in January, so this means I will be taking somewhat of a maternity leave at the start of the New Year! I will still be available for sessions and orders, but my time will be limited as I focus on my new little blessing.

One way I have attempted to make a difference with my work, is by giving back to children in this world…after all, it is children that have inspired my photography from the very beginning!

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is a non-profit organization that gives images to families of their infants that are leaving this world…but not without a legacy.

I, myself, have experienced great loss in life…in different ways. If you have experienced any loss, you know how painful that time can be. I only hope that I can use the gift God has given me, to capture the beauty in the last moments of life shared together, and help a loving memory live on forever with joy.

Am I the only one who has a bitter-sweet relationship with the first day of school?? I love the idea of having some time to myself to work without guilt and distraction…but I hate to see my kids go…

 

 

My girls couldn’t wait to get on that bus and start their first day of school as 1st and 3rd graders! They couldn’t even be bothered with pictures! Who’s kids are these anyway??

 

      

 

This is the first year that I will have the WHOLE day to myself! …well, until January that is…

 

Photography is only my #2 passion, right next to being a mommy. My girls are my whole world. So while I’m kicking back, playin’ and workin’…I’ll be baking my third girl to fill the empty nest that I am left with from 8am to 3pm.

 

I’m sure I’ll be asking myself why I decided to give myself more work later on…but then again, just as soon as I ask myself that, I am sure I will be reminded why it’s soo worth it…

Things are changing a little with the addition of a Graphic Designer on my team! I love her cool style and look forward to many new designs! I will no longer have to carry the load of designing my own templates, album pages (yessssss!), product logos and watermarks (which I have not done up until now! woops, shame on me!). Stay tuned for posts of our work together!! I am sure you will love her designs as much as I do!
Not to mention the editing help! I don’t know how I will survive without my editors! I have tried to keep up, but with everything going on, it’s just getting to be too much for one person!
I am also training a few new photographers for Trala Studios (a division of Heather Lynn Photographie) which will be taking jobs by the end of this year! If you are interested in showing off your photography skills, let me know and we will set up an interview! Training sessions are going on now! We have so much fun; who could want a better job?!

I had a photoshoot last week with my sister and newest assistant, Hayley!

I have had my old funky chair as a photo prop for a while now and what I thought was an original idea has become more common recently.
In an effort to try and stay creative and fresh, Hayley and I have been comming up with new photo props and ideas. We have made some additions to our chair inventory and will be using them more in upcomming shoots before I get too busy this wedding season. I have a few other ideas I will be trying as well! I can’t wait to see how things turn out!
She was a great model, and in exchange, I had to model for her as she practiced her photography. Hayley really has a natural and creative eye!

I am going to blog about new things going on with Heather Lynn Photographie. I will be sharing things I am doing and things to come, along with thoughts and feelings that accompany each new project.

Several projects are underway as we speak!

I am attending school to finish up my BA in Fine Art and Photography. With school comes homework, and that means many projects to play with! I will be seeking models and assistants to work with as projects come up! If you are interested in participating, please let me know!

I already have a wonderful list of people who are interested in learning more about photography, and I am happy to help learn! There will be several new opportunities for assistant photographers in the near future as Heather Lynn Photographie expands!

TraLa STUDIOS will be our little sister company!

Plans for hiring will begin at the end of this year!

One of the many ways we are recruiting new photographers is by offering our time and support to the HEART GALLERY.

Heather Lynn Photographie and TraLa Studios are working with the Heart Gallery towards raising awareness for foster children in need of homes and families. You can help by interning for Trala Studios as we photograph children in need! Contact me for more information if you are interested in this opportunity!

Well, like I said, there is a lot going on. So I think I will just have to work on these things and I will try to keep up to date with my work!
