Chris and Ginger knew they wanted great pictures and a good time. They picked the perfect photographer, and the BEST location for a good time…Boundary Bay Brewery in Downtown Bellingham was the perfect place to have a wedding! They flew in from Alaska and we got some really fun shots around town. Chris and Ginger met in Bellingham {also the town I met MY husband/partner in crime!}. It was like a college reunion at this Bellingham wedding, full of good beer and excellent dancing. I am honored to be part of such awesomeness

I have been so  busy shooting every little moment I can, that I have had NO time to blog a thing! Here is a beautiful wedding I did with Brandi earlier this wedding season. I loved this wedding at the Grand Willow in Mt. Vernon. Even though the “grand willow” suffered some damage after a recent storm! Elisha & Dejan met while working on a criuse ship together {I thought I had the best  job ever!!} and are soooo fun and in love ♥.

At our most recent destination wedding in Maui, Keith and I were just amazed by the beautiful views! We took the road to Hana for some sight seeing and explored all kinds of jungles and beaches! I know all the places I want to shoot next time I am there  

I just love being near the ocean. Being a native southern Californian may have something to do with it, but I just love the beach. It’s just so romantic and calming…unless you gonna shred some waves, then it’s exciteing

We stayed at The Royal Lahaina, and really liked it for the price! The beach there was terrific, right next to Black Rock {we did plenty of snorkeling!}. Some of the bonus shoots we did for this destination wedding included Gentlemen’s Golf Day, the Ladies Luncheon, and the Welcome Dinner…but you could also have a romantic engagement session on the beach {this is where we get creative!}! This wedding had over 60 guests fly out to Maui for the wedding!!

When Keith and I got married at Sandals in Montego Bay, we didn’t tell anyone We did, however, come home and have a wedding ceremony/reception with our friends and family {and hey, I got two dresses out of it!!}. Destination Weddings are so unique and romantic, they just make me squeel with excitement! Keith and I just love traveling to exciting places to capture unique stories of true love. We are always honored to be part of your wedding day!     <3 Heather & Keith

They got married in Maui, and had the full-on southern traditional wedding events….a welcome dinner, ladies luncheon, gentlemen’s gof, and of course a perfect wedding on the beach. It was “perfect”. I have watched this couple together for a long time now, and it was my pure honor to be there as the photographer. These two have excellent taste in everything from art to friends.

I just got back from LA shooting a family photo event, and two of my favorite models! Erica and Griffin are such a beautiful couple, and needed some updated shots for their careers {she is a fit model, he is a recording artist} so I just had to share some shots of my beautiful friends I had a lot of fun with these two, shooting in the fabulous Laguna Beach and Santa Monica. I remember when Stephanie and I would go out with the girls on Funk night in Bellingham, looking for Mr. Right. It was almost 7 years ago when Stephanie met Whit and they have been  together ever since. Going to Grad School, working hard, buying houses…They are so very successful in their careers and in their relationship because they are just two great people. I made them kiss a lot more than they are used to, but I think it was good for them {especially Whit}. We had a blast reminiscing while running around Seattle with the rain pouring down throughout the entire session between Pike Place and the Seattle Center. Good times. That rain didn’t slow us down one bit. This two we perfect!!  I cannot wait for the wedding this summer! The Photobooth is going to be a blast

Phil and Jenny love each other, and they love Snohomish! They are having a Snohomish wedding later this year, and I just can’t wait to take their wedding photos! From the first shot on our Engagement session, I knew this couple was going to be fun. Such great models, so brave and willing to try my random ideas! {and even offering a few of their own ideas!}

Phil and Jenny have inspired me to give a few little Engagement Session pointers, because these two really got it right…

First, location, location, location. This session is a time for you to capture who you are as a couple, and as individuals. So when we are planning our shoot together, think about a place that tells a little bit of your story! Maybe a park, maybe the urban city, or downtown shabby-chic, a romantic farm with fields, a place you have created memories, or a place you’d like to make new ones…think about it! And when in doubt, ask the photographer!      I can also suggest the best times for natural light, depending on our options!

The next question: What to wear, what to wear? Ya know, I always LOVE it when there are a few options, don’t you? So bring a few accessories, or outfits that showcase your personality! We can change it up from “normal” to “funky” and everything in between! This is YOUR time to showcase your personality, YOU are America’s next top model!!!{ Well, at least for about an hour with ME, you’re the star!} So don’t be afraid to dress up and  showcase  your personal style to the shoot!

Along with dressing up, comes playing the part. That’s right. You are going to be “performing” a little, at least it may feel like it! We are all probably not used to having paparazzi following us around, so it is gonna feel a little weird at first, right!? Don’t worry, you’re gonna get over it.   That’s what this time together is great for, getting over the awkward getting-to-know-each-other phase! We can get used to each other and any awkward feelings you may have about being in front of the camera BEFORE the wedding day, so you can be more relaxed and comforatable on your big day. Be prepared to show a little PDA. That’s right, I’m going to ask you to kiss and “nuggle” and get lost in each others eyes.  :)  This can be super weird for some people.  Jenny and Phil were an exception to this, which made my job sooo much easier! They knew how to be comfortable “loving” each other in front of me, giggling and laughing in between attempts at serious shots….it was perfect! But don’t worry all you PDA-haters! Give me animation,  silliness, & quirks with that romance! If you can do this at your engagement session, you are sure to get priceless shots that really represent the two of you and your love for one another. That’s what this is all about!
